Who We Are

We've enjoyed the Lord's many blessings...His grace is sufficient to meet all our needs.

We'd love to hear from you

We're Ralph and Kim Lewis and if you asked us where we were from you'd get a hodge-podge of places as an answer. We are both third generation missionaries and having grown up in Indonesia and the Philippines it sort of makes it hard to state equivocally just where we're from. We made Southern California our home after we married and lived in Oceanside for a number of years before becoming missionaries ourselves.

The Lord has certainly blessed us with five of the most precious children anyone could ever dream of. Of course, you've probably noticed there is a sixth. In 2007, Logan joined our family at about 5 months old. His mother passed away after a horrible bout of malaria. Logan's father brought Logan to us and said that he was incapable of taking care of him and would we raise him. Logan is such a wonderful child and complements our family fully. Logan's full adoption was finalized in November of 2010. Each of our children is home schooled and excels in their studies.

Ralph's Testimony
I was blessed in many ways to have missionaries for parents but particularly to have been raised in Indonesia. I attended boarding schools in Malaysia and the Philippines. At the age of seven I placed my trust in what Christ had done for me on Calvary and that His death was sufficient payment for all of my sin.
I enjoyed my high school years, in Manila, at Faith Academy. Soccer, tennis and other extra-curricular activities made those years both challenging and rewarding. I even dated my future wife, Kim, and still have a fond recollection of those memories.
Upon completion of high school, I attended two years at Westmont College and then joined the United State Marine Corps. I enjoyed my first enlistment enough to sign on for a second and it was during that second hitch that I met Kim again. It wasn't long after that we were married and when the time came to reenlist I chose to seek opportunities more conducive to raising a family.
As I look back over the years, I can see how God prepared me and brought me to a point where I knew I needed to answer His call on my life and take His gospel message to those who have never had a chance to hear.

Kim's Testimony
I had the privilege of being raised in not only a Christian home but also one that was focused on worldwide evangelism. Yes, my parents were missionaries with New Tribes Mission. Since 1966 our family served in a tribal area of the Philippines and it was there I gained a love for tribal people.
As a young girl I remember coming to the understanding that I was a helpless sinner bound for the same eternity that the tribal people, my parents had come to teach, were headed. I put my trust in the finished work of Christ as the only payment for my sin.
In high school, at Faith Academy, I met Ralph and we dated his senior year. I did not see him again for many years as our paths took us to opposite sides of the continent.
After graduation, I attended 2 years at Florida Bible College and then went to Samford University to pursue a nursing degree. I decided that I wanted to go into the travel industry instead and became a travel agent. After 6 years, Ralph and I came in contact with each other and decided to marry in Jan of 1989.

Our Family Testimony
After we were married, Ralph finished his last year in the Marine Corps and took employment in Southern California. Our first son was born in 1990 and we realized we had some decisions to make as to how we wanted to raise him. As we became more involved in our local church we once again felt burdened for the lost people who were dying - going to spend an eternity in Hell; the same burden we had both been exposed to as children. We were convinced that we needed to listen and respond to the Lord's leading in this area.
In August, 1996 our dream became reality and headed off to Bible School in Waukesha, WI with 3 children. While we were there we had our fourth child. We completed the 2 year Bible training in 1998 and thoroughly enjoyed that phase of preparation. Our fifth child was born while at the Missions Institute in Jersey Shore, PA. The advanced missions curriculum at the MI prepared us for the job of Tribal Evangelization that had previously loomed insurmountable.
With the final phase of training, at the Language Institute in Missouri, behind us we had to look to the Lord for direction and leading. He has guided us each step of the way; through deputation and on to the field of Cambodia. It is our prayer that you too may see that this job can be done and that you'll also take those first steps of faith and hang on tight as God takes you for the ride of your life.
